Congratulations to Tyler Martinez, our Youth of the Year two years running!  Tyler will receive a $500 scholarship from the Club and will compete in the state competition in Denver on March 28, 2011.  Best of luck Tyler!

Tyler Martinez is a junior at Alamosa High School and has attended the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley for the last six years.  His friends and family describe him as an honest, hard working, fun, and an energetic person who loves to socialize.  He is a member of the varsity basketball team at school and enjoys being in drama, forensics, and dance.   Tyler was an active member of Torch Club and is currently a member of Keystone.  As a junior staff, Tyler is very dependable and shows leadership.  Being a role model for the younger members of the club is something Tyler is very proud of.  Members can always look to him for support.  Tyler feels like the Boys & Girls Club has given him many opportunities and many great memories.  After graduating from high school, Tyler plans to attend Colorado University or Adams State College.  He would like to play college basketball while attending classes to earn a Degree in Theatre or Education.
