Mr. Miltenberger joined the Boys and the Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley as President/CEO in April of 2018. A long time advocate for historically underserved and marginalized youth, with over 25 years of working in student and youth development programs. Mr. Miltenberger has worked with foster homes, environmental education programs, youth corrections, wilderness therapy programs and with social services. He was a three-year employee at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley working in the Intel Computer Clubhouse. Most recently, Mr. Miltenberger was the Director of Student Life & Recreation at Adams State University, where he worked for 10 years. He received his Master in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from ASU in 2012 and is pleased to serve the community in this new capacity.

Dale is a valley native with over two decades of operations and workforce management experience. Husband and father of two grown daughters, Dale has deep family ties to the San Luis Valley and a strong level of dedication to the youth of our diverse communities. With a broad understanding of the challenges faced by children and parents, he brings compassionate, yet firm, leadership to the Club membership and staff, acting as a mentor and guiding force that continues to carry the organization into the 21st century.

Cassidy, a Colorado Native, came to the Valley about six years ago with an AmeriCorps Program, Alpine Achievers Initiative. After that, she worked at the Crestone Charter School for about five years as the School Counselor. During that time, she developed and grew a comprehensive Social-Emotional Learning program that every K-12 student received.

Cassidy has extensive experience with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). She received her Masters in Social Work in 2021 and has extensive experience with SEL curriculums and behavior management. Her graduate thesis was focused on SEL and Career Development with high school students. During her years at the Crestone Charter School, Cassidy developed, implemented, and sustained a comprehensive K-12 SEL program and every student received weekly SEL lessons.

Cassidy looks forward to continuing to deepen her roots in the Valley and serve the kids and teens in these communities. She deeply believes in the inherent value of each person and supports youth to cultivate their skills to become happy and productive members of society. During her free time, Cassidy loves to be outside and play in creeks. She characterizes herself as joyful, kind, and playful - a perfect fit for the organization.

Jonny is a San Luis Valley native who provides Case Management support for our BGCSLV families and communities. He is an Adams State Graduate with his BA in English with emphasis in Creative Writing. He has always been an avid communicator and has always cared strongly for those around him, allowing him to naturally provide as much comfort and help as possible for those in need. Jonny is also an artist who works with ink and paint mediums, as well as a musician who sings and performs with a local band. He can also be found hiking local trails or attending concerts in his free time.

Theresa is a graduate of Adams State University who combines her MBA degree with over 20 years of experience serving non-profit organizations to bring an exciting portfolio of skills and abilities to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley’s executive team. Her extensive accounting background and passionate drive to give back to the community allow her to focus her role as Finance Director towards helping valley youth achieve their goals and dreams in our richly diverse world. She also loves the outdoors and can often be found tending her large garden, camping, and hunting. When not exploring the wild outdoors, she cares for her loving family and attends church.

With an extensive background in Human Resources and a strong passion for helping people achieve their goals, Lola brings a powerful skill set and vast personnel management experience to the growing team of caring professionals at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley. She is always inspired by her two boys, Nathaniel and Nicholas, who are actively involved in sports, which can make for a hectic yet incredibly rewarding family life that is often spent watching games or just hanging out with family and friends. Lola looks forward to making the BGCSLV a choice employer in the San Luis Valley, with competitive pay and benefits, in addition to creating a rich learning environment where staff can develop their skills and continue to grow as service professionals.

Tamra Jaquez is a highly experienced manager with over 14 years of experience in the workforce. She has a strong track record of success in training and developing employees, and has a proven ability to motivate and inspire others. Tamra is also a skilled leader and has a proven ability to build and maintain high-performing teams.

Tamra was born in Alamosa, Colorado, but spent most of her childhood in various areas of Colorado, New Mexico, and California. She returned to Alamosa 12 years ago to raise her children. Tamra is a proud mother of three children and two grandchildren. She is also an avid outdoorswoman and enjoys spending timefishing and camping with her family.

Tamra is excited to work with the great community of Alamosa and deepen her
roots with the San Luis Valley. She is passionate about her work and believes
that everyone has the potential to succeed. She is committed to helping her employees reach their full potential and is always looking for new ways to
improve the workplace.

Garrett is most passionate about introducing kids to the outdoors and providing them with memorable experiences. This makes him an ideal leader for the Outdoor Adventure program. Previously a teacher, Garrett has experience educating and working with kids. On a Sunday, you can find him cheering for the L.A. Chargers or hiking to big bodies of water.

Ahoy! My name is Shawna Lease, I am a Colorado Native with a passion for environmental stewardship and science. I am a huge nature lover and adventurer, from the tops of mountains all the way to the bottom of the ocean.

I think that in every outdoor activity we participate in we can find ways to incorporate science and sustainability. Even just picking up a few pieces of trash as we leave a park can have a positive impact on our planet.

I have a background in Biology and Anthropology, and the San Luis Valley is bursting with outdoor experiences to learn and teach about all aspects of history and science. I am excited to have the opportunity to help youth safely explore and learn from the wonderful world that surrounds them.
