2022 BE GREAT Gala Recap!

Aaron Miltenberger, CEO and President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley,

addresses the Be GREAT Gala Attendees.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley (BGCSLV) celebrated their 30th year during their annual gala honoring community members, local businesses, and organizations that contribute to the success of valley youth. The Adams State University Student Union banquet halls were packed with nearly 100 guests who enjoyed a delicious buffet provided by Sodexo, live and silent auctions, as well as a traditional dessert auction. The auctions will support the BGCSLV’s capital campaign, with funds designated to renovate the Alamosa Clubhouse’s kitchen and bathroom facilities, which are 20 years old.

Aaron Miltenberger, Executive Director, emceed the event along with local auctioneer Ed Schwartz of Commercial Roofing Solutions. The event was attended by many of the club’s corporate sponsors and their guests, including San Luis Valley Federal Bank, RG Bank, Husmann Plumbing, Alamosa State Bank, 1st Southwest Bank, Friday Health Plans, San Luis Valley Behavioral Health Group, Leavitt Group of Colorado, Wall Smith Bateman, VanIwaarden Builders, San Luis Valley Health, and Valley-Wide Health Systems.

Aaron spoke about the phenomenal growth of the BGSLV over the last year, with sites opened in Antonito, Blanca/Ft. Garland, Center, the Alamosa Teen Center, and most recently in Saguache. The club’s growth allows program staff to reach more kids across the valley who need the services the BGCSV offer.

The BGCSLV believes that our true strength lies in our community of caring people, businesses, and organizations who see the innate value in giving valley youth the best possible chance to achieve their true potential. We are grateful to our sponsors and all those who were able to attend and donate, helping generate over $70,000 to support our capital campaign. We are also incredibly grateful to all those who donated goods, services, and desserts! None of this would be possible without their generosity and kindness.
